You Are What You Choose

That old expression says, “You are what you eat.” The larger theme here is about the choices we make. This applies to much more than just food.

The reality is, you are what you choose.

Our choices impact every minute of every day. Under stress, do you choose something to enrich the soul or numb the brain? Do you choose to make a new connection virtually or sink back into isolation?

All too often, we don’t even realize that we have choices.

So much of our day-to-day livelihood runs on autopilot. The TV news program that makes your blood boil presents at least four choices:

  1. Watch and allow your blood pressure to skyrocket

  2. Watch something else

  3. Watch and choose not to be frustrated

  4. Don’t watch TV and do something else

There are even choices in how long you hold on to your emotions or your frame of mind in any given moment. If something does get your blood boiling, do you choose to bring anger and frustration with you or let go and start your next conversation with an open mind?

What choices will you make?
